artist residencies

Our 2021 artist residency program provided a place for creatives to focus, recharge, connect, and create new work.

 

workshop for potential music

Exploring listening and improvising through various exercises and will have the occasional guest leader/conductor. The goal: to cultivate a supportive environment to explore listening as a community, music making, and risk taking.

2020 was a time of tremendous grief for so many, which is why we gathered together (digitally) to continue our annual tradition of collective mourning as the year came to a close.

PRIDENTON 2020: Queer in it Together! This year's events were virtual and we showcased artistic performances by local queer and trans creatives on YouTube Live. The show was free, but we encourage you to tip our amazing performers!

Collective Connection at the Dallas Museum of Art

Explore the possibilities of curiosity, identity, and community in collective | connection by C3 Visiting Artist Collective, Spiderweb Salon at the Dallas Museum of Art. For our installation in C3 (Center for Creative Connections), fifty poets, writers, actors, and musicians wrote and recorded audio experiences inspired by works of art from the museum’s collection.

Spiderweb Salon Loves PriDENTON

Did you know your favorite creative collective is powered all year long by the efforts of LGBTQ+ artists & allies? This project was a community collaboration during 2019 Pride Month to celebrate and support local queer artists, zine culture, and love in all its beautiful forms.

New Year’s Revolution 2019

Spiderweb Salon's 7th annual winter formal, a radical costume party and carnival of creativity, where we set intentions for 2019, cleansed ourselves of any negativity clinging from the year before, and celebrated us as a unified creative collective. We also released our new collaborative zine about magick & mystery: THE BOOK OF SHADOWS!

2017

Spiderweb Salon: The Literary Podcast

Produced in collaboration with Pariah Art in Dallas, TX, and hosted by courtney marie, The Literary Podcast featured poetry and interviews with many poets and writers, including Paula Jane Mendoza, Candy, Darin Bradley, Colin Winnette, Kendra Greene, Rage Almighty, Fatima-Ayan Malika Hirsi, Ben Clark, R. Flowers Rivera, and Merritt Tierce.

Spiderweb Salon's Harvest Masquerade

Spiderweb Salon brought back the magic with our FIFTH ANNUAL MASQUERADE at Dan's Silverleaf, an evening of poetry and performance, music and mystery, art and adventure!

Spiderweb Salon's Five-Year Celebration Showcase

Spiderweb Salon turned five years old! We celebrated this amazing half-decade of creativity and community with a fabulous party. Ella Minnow headlined this party for their ten-year reunion show.

National Poetry Month 2017

Spiderweb Salon teamed up with Wine Squared, Thin Line Fest, and many of DFW's best poets & writers to bring an excellent evening of poetry, performance, and celebration.

2016

Spiderwed Salon

We threw a fake wedding called Spiderwed Salon and it was one of the most beautiful events ever. There was a food fight and a great deal of tears and laughter. No one got married, as far as we could tell.
